Delete your CricApex account

This page explains how to delete your CricApex account and what happens when you do. Anyone can use it, including people who have already uninstalled the app.

Option 1 — Delete it yourself in the app

This is the fastest way, and it happens straight away.

  1. Open CricApex.
  2. Go to More → Settings.
  3. Scroll to Account and tap Delete Account.
  4. Choose a reason, then enter your password to confirm.
  5. Tap Permanently Delete My Account.

Your account is deleted immediately, and this cannot be undone.

Before you delete: if you want to keep a record of your cricket, export the scorecards you care about first — any completed match can be exported as a PDF. Once the account is gone, the backup is gone with it.

Option 2 — Ask us to delete it

If you have uninstalled the app, or you cannot sign in, email us:

Email: support@cricapex.com
Subject: Delete my CricApex account

Please include the email address you used to sign up, so we can find the right account. We may ask you one follow-up question to confirm the account is yours. We will never ask you for your password.

What gets deleted

Your sign-in account — your email address and credentials, held by Google Firebase Authentication.

Your private cloud backup, which contains:

Your public cricketer card. CricApex publishes a small profile card — your CricApex ID, name, photo, playing style and career statistics — so other signed-in users can find you. It is removed automatically as part of deletion, so you stop appearing to other users. It never contained your email address or phone number.

Any live match you are sharing — including one started on another phone — and your LIVE status that your connections can see. CricApex stops the broadcast and removes the shared snapshot before anything else is deleted, and checks that it is really gone. If it cannot confirm the broadcast has stopped, it stops and deletes nothing, so deleting your account can never leave a match of yours publicly visible.

Your connections. Every connection request you sent or received, your connections, and other people's records of their connection with you are removed from the cloud.

Your CricApex ID. It is released, so it no longer points to you.

Your cricket data on the phone you delete from — your teams, players, matches and tournaments are cleared from that device, and you are signed out.

How we make sure it actually happened

CricApex does not simply send delete requests and hope. After each step it reads the record back to confirm it is gone, and only then moves on. If any step fails, deletion stops there and nothing further is deleted. You can still sign in, and trying again safely finishes the job. Once all of your data is confirmed gone, CricApex records that the account was deleted (see below), so that even a phone still signed in to it cannot re-create anything.

What may remain, and why

Please read this part — it matters.

A small amount of app data stays on your phone. Deleting your account clears your cricket data and signs you out, but a few local items remain: your app settings (theme, sound, haptics) and some internal bookkeeping the app uses to work correctly. None of it contains your email address or password. One exception to "no cricket data": if CricApex ever made a safety copy on that phone (before a restore from a backup file, or of damaged data it set aside to protect it), that copy stays too. If you want it all gone, uninstall the app. That removes everything CricApex has stored on the device.

A record that the account was deleted. CricApex keeps a record containing only the deleted account's internal identifier and the time of deletion, so that a phone still signed in to it cannot re-create any of its data. It holds no name, email address or cricket data, and no other user can read it.

Copies other people hold. Two situations put your details in someone else's records, and we cannot reach them:

If you were connected with someone, their app removes your card by itself once it sees that your account is gone. The one exception is a match they recorded that you played in: your name stays on that scorecard, so their match history still reads correctly.

Please contact those people directly if you would like their copy removed.

Anything you already shared. PDFs you exported, images you posted, and watch links you sent to friends have already left the app. We cannot recall them.

Short-lived copies held by Google. Our infrastructure provider, Google Firebase, may keep deleted data briefly in its routine backups and logs before erasing it permanently, under its own retention schedule.

If you only want to stop using CricApex on one phone

CricApex needs an account, and while you are signed in it backs your data up automatically. If you simply want to stop using it on a particular phone, sign out there. Your account and backup are kept, and everything returns when you sign in again. If you no longer want CricApex to hold your data at all, delete your account as described above.

What signing out does on the phone. CricApex stops any match you are sharing live, saves your data to the cloud, and then clears the local copy from that device, because the data is safe in your backup. (If that final save cannot be completed — for example you are offline — CricApex deliberately keeps the local copy instead, so nothing is lost.)
